Kalison K2001 6/4 CC Tuba With Custom Unitec Flight Case. Condition is "Used".
You can see clearly all repaired and I repaired dents in the pictures. None of them affect how the horn plays at all.
I bought this from Vince Simonetti back when I first got my job in the Las Vegas Philharmonic, and I have loved it for a long time. Currently I am switching to BBb and I no longer need this horn. It has a large secure low register that is easy to produce. The low E does not red line easily. The main tuning slide trigger is the only thing you ever need to touch for slide pulling or pushing. Other than pedal d, which I pull the bottom 3rd tuning slide for an easy return to zero once low D’s are over. All open notes are in tune except top C but you just push the trigger and you’re good. Comes with the flight case which is custom for for this horn. If you’re looking for a 6/4 CC that isn’t super expensive and plays really well, let me know.
Side note. These valves have Bloke washers which seem to be indestructible… got them years ago and they’re barely dented at all. Fast valves. Fifth is rotax. Super open. No real slur bumps through partials.
I intentionally left the patina on the silver. If you polish it, you can have a bright finish, but it took me 15 years to get the patina to go purple in the back area. Keep that in mind before polishing it.
