    Complete punched games include all maps, charts, rules, and counters and are sorted for ease of setup and play. Punched counters are verified against unpunched games or images of unpunched counter sheets. Punched counters are then sealed in trays or zip bags for shipping. Also if we end up paying less than originally quoted in shipping (this largely depends on the box and packing material weight, USPS boxes tend to weigh less than regular boxes) we will refund anything over our cost of postage (excluding ebay's fee on postage) .

    Battle of the Five Armies
    from TSR Games (2nd Printing, 1976; Designer: Larry Smith) is punched and verified as COMPLETE in very good to excellent condition. The Rule Book has some age darkening around the edges and a small 1/2-inch tear on the edge at the center of the non-binding edge of the back page (the tear has been repaired with archive-quality glue - no tape; see picture), but is otherwise in excellent condition with no creases, marks, stains or writing.  The Map was folded about a 1/3 of the way up form the bottom of the original folds but is clean and in very good condition. The Counters are punched and complete in very good condition and sorted by race. There is no box as the second printings were sold in a ziplock bag.
    This is the TSR remake of the earlier (Lore/JMJ Enterprises) game and is a vast improvement over that version. This game has a PLASTIC zip-"baggie" for it's contents, with 2 smaller zip-"baggies" for the game counters, with the counters representing one of the biggest improvements to the game. Players provide a 6-sided & 10-sided dice as well as a Turn Record Track.
    New additions include Worg-Riders, hidden movement, denoted Elves/Men Archers-(optional rules), Smaug the Dragon counter, and more detailed morale rules. The rules booklet includes a TSR Product Releases Page, as well as unit pictures at the top of the Terrain Effects Chart, with the Combat Results Table & Missile Effects Chart on the back page.

    A Review from BGG by John Hitches:
    "I had this game thirty years ago. It was my first wargame and I loved the heck out of it. I played it numerous times solo, and a few times in a two-player game. Here is my recollection of it.
    The map board has two mountain spurs jutting out from the west edge of the board, with the ruined town of Dale and a river running from the gate in the valley between them. The elves, men and dwarves are holed up on the mountain spurs, and the orcs and worgs enter from the east.
    There are ten dwarf counters, and since Dain had 500 dwarves, that sets the ratio at each counter = 50 men. There are also ten men counters, 32 elves, 20 wolves and I believe 54 goblins. 5 eagle counters, and Beorn the shape-shifter, are available as reinforcements. There are counters for Thorin, Dain, the Elf-King, Gandalf, Bard, and the Goblin King (whose name escapes me). Stacking is 3-high. Leader counters have no effect other than they can exceed stacking limits and thus boost your stack. A goblin counter can stack with a wolf counter and become a warg-rider, with combined attack/defense, but counting as one stack.
    The stats are Attack-Defense-Movement. Dwarves are 2-2-4, Men are 2-2-6, Elves are 3-2-6, Goblins are 3-3-4, Wolves are 2-1-8. There are a handful of archer units among the men, elves and dwarves and these are primarily useful against goblins scaling the mountain.
    Play is UGO-IGO, and combat is differential. Combat is rolled with a d10, high being better. Goblins receive a -1 to the roll in daylight, elves receive a +1 vs goblins. There are chrome rules for goblins trying to flank the enemy by climbing the spurs (roll a die to see if they fall to their death), bowfire, Thorin exiting the gate, fighting in the tunnels, and the eagles and Beorn. The CRT is all about inflicting unit losses. You win by capturing (or holding) the gate
    In my experience, the goblins can concentrate in force and just smash through the thin elf screen. Combat is bloody and the goblins can absorb more losses. The game is over too quickly for the eagles and Beorn to help out. Worg riders are deadly, although losses can be quite high, as the elimination of one unit removes both the wolf and rider.
    I created a house rule of no stacking (except of course one wolf plus one goblin) and found that this gave a very satisfactory sense of a massive evil army, and a slow attritive battle that allows time for the eagles to arrive. Then it becomes a tense struggle.
    As a joke, there is a scenario of a 100-100-15 Smaug vs the dwarves. Smaug can only be killed by bowfire and the dwarves have no bows!"
    Games stated as complete are for necessary components (maps, rules, charts, counters) that can only be present with that game and may or may not include blank counters or trays, dice, pencils, crayons, etc. things that are common to most games and can be easily switched from one game to another.
